WANTED: skilled french horn player for newly-formed woodwind quintet
I'm seeking a skilled french horn player for my newly-formed woodwind quintet. We aim to perform a variety of intermediate/advanced wind quartet and quintet repertoire, including classical, modern/new works and pops pieces.
The quintet's members live all over northeast Ohio. We are currently rehearsing on alternating Sundays in Lakewood, but are somewhat flexible with this.
The ideal horn player will have a lovely tone, good sight-reading ability, fairly wide note range, competent technique and be comfortable with some transposition on sight (as often needed when playing older works that include Eb rather than F horn.
As our instrumentation/instrumental tone color is already askew from tradition: we include a second flute player in place of an oboist... other instrument options (e.g alto saxophone) may also be considered.
For more information or to meet us/sit in at an upcoming rehearsal you may contact Brandyn by text or voice: (440) 332.7763 #classical #rehearsals #instrumentation #frenchhorn

Ian Clarke: Hatching Aliens 2
What an AMAZING piece of music! I love Ian Clarke's work. If you don't know him, you'll definitely want to take a listen to the video below. He is a 21st century/modern (and still living) composer who writes mainly solo and chamber flute music using extended techniques such as quarter-tones, multiphonics, singing while playing, breathy tone, key slaps and more. Ian Clarke is *THE* guy for 21st century avant-garde flute music.
Flightpath for Flute Solo : pre-premiere demo
Preview my new composition for flute solo! "Flightpath" will have its official world premiere on my upcoming recital (Feb 23, Cleveland,) but you can hear it first!
This is a demo of the flute part only. The complete score includes piano accompaniment, and will be performed accompanied at its premier.

Written in the early part of 2018, Flightpath is one my more recent compositions. The piece opens with a question: “where am I going?” The placid flute solo is juxtaposed with a sparse and poignant piano accompaniment. Suddenly, there is a
flurry of activity as the performers rushes toward their unknown destination
hectically, much in the way that an agitated insect would behave when trying to
escape. However, upon arrival, the initial question resurfaces, leaving us to wonder if we really got anywhere at all. Digital or print scores may be ordered at http://bit.ly/2GteDZs.
